Wincanton Camera Club welcome Andrew Dibben, proprietor of AJ's, one of the leading independent suppliers of photographic lighting and studio equipment in Europe. Andrew is bringing along some of his lighting equipment and light modifiers to demonstrate their use. A smoke machine and coloured gels may well be used so we can see their impact. With the use of universal triggers there is the opportunity for some of us to have a go ourselves if you bring your camera.
Coming along with Andrew is Professional photographer, Mark Pickthall, who will be demonstrating the lighting in various set ups whilst photographing a model. The camera will be tethered to a computer and screens so that we can see the photographs as soon as they are taken and note the differences with various lighting setups.
An important part of the team at AJ's is Hannah Rochford. Hannah is an expert astro photographer and she will be sharing her knowledge with us on Wednesday April 16th, another talk not to be missed. Check out Hannah's work on @hannahgracerochford Instagram

Guests (non-members) are welcome at a charge of £5 on the door.

Mark Pickthall
Mark Pickthall is a very experienced professional photographer of Weddings, Events, and Studio work. His work includes Portraits, Fashion, Festivals (including Glastonbury), Product, Drone, Light & Fire art, Artists, Floods, Murmurations and Body Art. Mark has a studio in Mill Lane, Bruton, Somerset.
In Mark's own words,
"For 40 years I’ve worked in the visual arts as a branding designer, typographer, art director and photographer. The last fifteen years have seen me mainly behind a camera and planning settings and ideas. Low light, performance and art photography have been my main enthusiasms of recent years, working with a number of inspirational artists along the way."
