COMPETITIONS
Kingswood Salver
This took place on November 8. Our club's panel of prints didn't get an award, but we are very proud of Jim Constantine, whose print "Homeward Bound" (shown below) was awarded second place in the individual prints section. This is a notable achievement, so congratulations Jim!
Bradford Abbas Shield
The Bradford Abbas Shield, took place at Bradford Abbas village hall on October 28. Each of the five participating clubs (ourselves, the hosts Bradford Abbas/Sherborne, Gillingham, South Petherton and Yeovil) enters five prints and five projected images. As usual, it was an entertaining evening and, for the first time, we found ourselves coming out on top! It will be all the harder to defend our trophy next year!
HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE IMAGES
On November 12 our secretary, Lachlan Fraser, gave a talk on the above subject. This is a technique which is growing in popularity at present, so we were pleased to be able to learn how to go about processing images in this way.
COMPETITION RULES
Some changes to the competition rules have been made for this season. The new rules can be found here.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS
November 26: Group critique of competition entries.
December 3: Members' sequences of "My holiday pictures", with or without sound. This is the last meeting before Christmas.
